Day 109 Ludhiana

A slow start to the day today. It is very hot and humid again. We had a delicious Indian breakfast and sampled Indian tea, milky tea with ginger and cinnamon.  We spent a couple of hours at a local mall. Mark decided he wasn’t relaxed enough and tried the machine, more painful than relaxing was the verdict. Keeping the liquids up- iced lemon tea.  After much more delicious food we visited another larger, local temple. Alongside the temple were large enclosures for sick cows. You could make a donation to go toward feeding and caring for them.  We headed back to the house obviously for more food and we met Priya’s lovely sister Ankur and brother in law Malti and  their two children. 

Day 108. Amritsar - Ludhiana

It is good to be moving again and to welcome TomTom back into the team, he has been MIA for a long time now. We farewelled the lovely team at the hotel and they surprised us with a nice farewell gesture. Leaving Amritsar.  The road was excellent today apart from a couple of road works related snarl ups which have been made muddy by recent monsoon downpours. The heat when we slow slow down is something else, with the high humidity we are dripping wet. Some retail therapy options along the way.  A wedding venue  The LPU - Lovely Professional University.  Always interesting who you get to share the road with on this trip.   Negotiating the narrow streets of Ludhiana was tough and at one stage I glanced at the temp gauge, 45C, wish I hadn’t seen it!  Our destination is the lovely home of Suresh and Anju Soni who have agreed to share their lives with us for a couple of days.
