Day 153. Ban Lao Yo - Khon Kaen

Image
Only 230km today on the lovely black tarmac ribbon, the scenery just like yesterday was brilliant. The scenery was much like yesterday, we really felt like were in the forests and parks at times.  We have come to visit Bhua and her husband John. Bhua was partner to Robyn’s brother Steve. (deceased)  They met us at a local landmark and guided us to their home.  After we changed we went for lunch at a local eatery, then back to the house for a chat and a relax. They have made us very welcome.  Out again to a really nice restaurant for dinner, this restaurant was very popular and was like a raw food smorgasbord which you select from, then return to your table and cook your own dinner in a pot of hot stock. The stock is heated with an induction hob built into the table. Very nice, especially the fresh prawns!   Khan Kaen at night. Very nice city.
