Day 128. Sausara - Lahan
After the clear sky’s of the last 2 days we woke up to grey and dull, it had rained overnight and the air was cool. A perfect day for travel.

Kiwi’s been through it all with us and is hanging in there.
We are heading for the most eastern border crossing into India. The ride was very pleasant through beautiful countryside, some national park with the bush close to the road on each side, some farmlands and we crossed many wide braided rivers which opened up our views.
The weather warmed up and we were getting hot, we stopped for a cold drink and momo’s for lunch.

Soon after we looked ahead and sky was black, really black, shall we go on? It was about 2.30.
Too early to stop so we pulled over and stowed our electrics. We got excellent views of the lightening and could hear the distant thunder.
Then we were in it, I think it took about about 30 seconds for me to be soaked through to the skin but on we pushed at one stage a clap of thunder felt like it was right on top of us and we both jumped in fright.
Plenty of surface water to dodge, but all the traffic slowed considerably thank goodness. Then we noticed a sensation we haven’t had for a long time, we felt cold!
Not too much longer and we were through the worst of it. We boxed on for about another hour and have called it quits. We are in a remote area so it’s back to fairly ordinary accommodation but we are close enough to the border now and should cross tomorrow.
