Day 100. Islamabad

Wow. We’ve cracked the ton. What better way to celebrate than to have a chillout day.
A sleep in followed by a nice breakfast then the hotel concierge said that the owners would like to offer us a complementary dinner tonight by way of thanks for choosing their hotel and in recognition of our special journey.
How nice is that and it is typical of how we are being received here. Next time you are in Islamabad we recommend the Chalet Hotel.

So many people have mentioned how much they like our prime minister, the response from her to that tragic event has obviously touched many people here.

We have sent out every piece of clothing we have, except what we are wearing to be washed.
The concierge also took a look at our bike which hasn’t been washed since I cleaned it in Palmy and recommended a place a couple of k’s down the road, all spik and span now $5.

Mark putting the bits back on the bike, hotel in the background.

While this was going on we visited a couple of local clothing stores where Robyn bought a shalwar kameez, a traditional garment worn by most women here.

We have spent the afternoon planning the next stage and especially checking if the plans we made in NZ are realistic given what we know now.
